The Void

The Void was inspired by Joe Simpson's book Touching the Void in which the author Joe Simpson describes his successful and almost fatal climb of Siula Grande in the Peruvian Andes in 1985. On a purely musical level, the piece departs from romantic gestures and puts more emphasis on clear narration, harmony and rhythm.
