Paradiso
for choir and live electronics

Paradiso was set to poetry by Grzegorz Olszanski selected from his poetry book "Kroniki Filmowe" (eng.Cinema Chronicles). The title refers to the chapter of the book called Poema Paradiso from which the selection was made. There are 4 parts that refer to the separate poems: 1. The Heat, 2. Everybody for Themselves and God Against All 3. Me Against Everyone 4. Taste of Cherry (fragment). The electronics use the live choir sound input and are improvised by a separate performer. They are then distributed to speakers surrounding the audience. The piece was commissioned by the 9th Festival of Premiers "Polish. Modern Music" in 2021 and was written for and premiered by The Katowice City Singers' Ensemble Camerata Silesia conducted by Anna Szostak.
