The Body
The Body, for large ensemble, two sopranos and two baritones was composed to
texts derived from The Praise of Folly by Erasmus Desiderius.
The text of the piece comments on contemporary society's consumerism and the importance of achieving a balance between
the physical and intellectual sides of modern human life.
The piece that was heavily inspired by work of Louis Andriessen was commissioned by the Ernst von Siemens and Friends of Warsaw Autumn Festival Foundations.
